AN 18-YEAR-old student died after falling more than 1,300ft on Snowdon, it was revealed at the opening of an inquest today (August 5).

Christopher Jack Wilson, of Summer Lane, Brixham, Devon, born in Ireland, died on July 26 on Crib y Ddysgl.

Assistant coroner for north west Wales, Sarah Riley, at Caernarfon, said it was reported that the teen had been walking with his father on the peak when, at 3pm, he fell about 400 metres down an incline.

“He sustained multiple substantial injuries that have proved fatal,” the coroner said.

The investigation into the tragedy continues.

The inquest was adjourned to a full hearing.
