A YOUNG Wrexham fan who became an internet sensation by leading the chants down at Wembley is set to get back on the mic tomorrow - this time on home soil.

Ten-year-old Madi Roberts and dad Chris were just two of the 28,000 strong crowd of Wrexham fans who travelled down to Wembley for the FA Trophy final back in May.

And while the result was not the one Wrexham wanted, losing out 1-0 to opponents Bromley, the father-and-daughter duo from Anglesey had a day to remember.

That is because Madi bravely got up on stage at the Wembley Boxpark venue to lead the chants among Reds fans.

Now, she is set to take to the mic again as she has a go at announcing the line-ups via the PA system at the Racecourse tomorrow (Saturday, July 30).

Wrexham will be taking on Macclesfield in a pre-season friendly with Robbie Savage also due to make an appearance.

Madi has always liked Wrexham and dad Chris, who has been following the club for over 30 years, bought her her first season ticket last season.

He grew up watching the Reds play alongside his father and brother on the Kop Stand.

Tomorrow will no doubt be a special and memorable occasion for the family.

Chris said: "To firstly see Madi’s video at Boxpark Wembley go viral on the internet and receive over 300,000 views was just incredible and the response we have had following that is really overwhelming.

"Wrexham fans have been approaching her in the town before matches and coming up to her in the club shop saying that they recognise her and have seen her video.

"Paul Mullin himself told her that he had seen it and gave her his signed hoodie after the last home game which made her so happy she was wearing it and wouldn’t take it off.

"Madi has been interviewed and even featured on the Manchester United website and social media channels after walking up Snowdon with Mickey Thomas to help raise funds for charity.

"After seeing the video Wrexham AFC said they wanted to do something for her, they asked Madi to record a video so they could post on their social media channels prior to the Grimsby game and also gave her a signed football from all the players.

"They also said that they would like to get her involved in some way at the beginning of the 2022/23 season and tomorrow she will get the chance to announce the teams on the ground PA system in front of the Wrexham fans.

"She is really looking forward to this and has asked if the Wrexham fans can get behind her. For a ten year old, Madi is full of confidence and I am so proud of her.

"Wrexham AFC have been amazing with Madi, to give Madi this chance really shows how much they value their fans. I would like to say a massive thank you to them for making a little girl beyond happy over the last couple of months."
