A BUSINESS based in Llandudno Junction providing feed, bedding, clothes and equipment for horses and their riders has expanded by opening a second store with greater variety on Anglesey.

Jennifer Edwards, who lives and grew up in Anglesey herself, opened “North Wales Horse Tack” in Llandudno Junction two-and-a-half years ago, but celebrated the launch of “North Wales Horse Tack and Country Store” in Llangefni last Friday (July 8).

The Llangefni store, which will also cater for dogs and poultry as well as horses, is based at Herron Services.

It marks a return to the island for Jennifer’s business, too, having initially opened in Gaerwen in 2016, before closing there following the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

She said: “We don’t just do horse stuff in the Llangefni store – we’ve got a dog section there, with a dog groomer and a range of dog food, and a bit of poultry stuff as well.

“We called this one ‘North Wales Horse Tack and Country Store’, because it provides more.

“I grew up in Anglesey myself, and there’s quite a lot of equestrian people on Anglesey, and there were no dog groomers.

“So, we chose Llangefni because it’s central to the island, and because there was a decent premises to take on. It’s a really, really nice building.

“The first day (July 8) was mental – so many people were here. It was really nice – the support was amazing.

“This week has died off a little, and it’s been a difficult week with my mum being poorly, but today (July 15), the doors haven’t stopped opening again.

“We are, I think, going to be quite a busy store, to say the least!”
