FAST food chain Bangor King is to open a new restaurant in the centre of Bangor.

Following the closure of its base at Menai Shopping Centre in 2020, after the franchisee went into administration and staff were made redundant, it will soon be making a return.

The company says it has a new site opening on Garth Road, where the previous restaurant shut, and is currently advertising vacancies.

A spokesperson for the company confirmed that it will open a new restaurant in Bangor later this year.

Burger King has written on its recruitment site: "We are ambitious, growing fast and looking for people to join the BKUK story."

A Burger King spokesperson said: "Burger King UK is regularly evaluating opportunities to bring great-tasting products to more guests in new locations.

"We can confirm that there will be a new restaurant opening at this location later in the year; however we do not have further information at this time."

Its former restaurant in Bangor’s city centre closed at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was announced in May 2020 that it would remain shut after franchise owner Powerbanks entered administration.
