A DAY of celebrations is planned at Bangor Garth Pier to celebrate its 126th anniversary and the presentation of the Pier of The Year Award 2022.
The Friends of Bangor Garth Pier and Bangor City Council have organised the event, which is to be held on Saturday, May 14.
The award is to be presented to the pier by National Piers Society Chair Tim Wardley.

The day will include a live broadcast by Radio Ysbyty Gwynedd between 11am and 4pm with live music, interviews and discussions.
The presentation of the Pier of the Year Award will then take place at 2pm, while there will be fun and food on the pier for all of the family, before a firework display at 9.15pm.
The event is free to attend, with no ticket required, except for a 50p entrance fee to the pier.
