WITH the days beginning to last a little longer and temperatures slowly but surely rising, there’s hardly a better time to spruce up your garden or home – and thanks to Bobbi Barnwell and her husband Scott, North Wales residents are in luck.

Bobbi and Scott’s business, “Dust Shack”, has thrived in Kinmel Bay since moving from Bolton 18 months ago, offering a wide range of indoor and outdoor furniture, home accessories and giftware.

With smaller items available for national delivery and larger products for Denbighshire, Conwy and Flintshire, the couple pride themselves on creating unique, sustainable goods.

Bobbi said: “Bringing together our skills and experience of digital engineering and art and design, we work in a variety of woods to design, craft and finish our furniture to the highest of standards.

“Combining digital and traditional woodworking techniques, we aim to produce bespoke and elegant furniture.

“We have a new garden furniture range, which are painted in various colours to brighten up your garden, along with a selection of planters, including painted and Welsh larch varieties.

“As we design and make all our products, we can customise any item to accommodate our customers’ requirements, including designing and building bespoke items.

“Our home accessories range includes a large selection of wooden furniture handles, along with coat hooks, desk organisers, plant pot holders, laptop stands and display shelving.

“For gift ideas, we have a range of bespoke carved wooden signs and children’s growth height rulers, ideal for celebrating special occasions.”

Buying from Dust Shack is not only a thumbs-up for your garden or home, but for the environment, too – Bobbi and Scott use only responsibly sourced materials like PEFC- and FSC-certified wood, and non-toxic glues and finishes.

Where possible, they also source their materials from North Wales businesses, in a bid to not only support the area’s economy, but to reduce their carbon footprint.

But for Bobbi, it’s the personal impact their products have had on their customers’ lives which has made their business so rewarding.

She added: “We love to see our customers’ bespoke designs come to life, and how these items can make a big difference in their lives.

“During lockdown, when so many people were working from home, it was very fulfilling helping our customers create home office spaces that has allowed them to separate work and home life, helping them towards a better work-life balance.

“We had an influx of requests from customers who required bespoke desks and storage to fit in dining rooms, living rooms, cubby holes and bedrooms.

“Knowing we are making items that make a positive difference to people is what inspires us to develop the business and gives us pride in what we produce.”
