THE ISLE of Anglesey has been named one of the best destinations to disconnect from electronic devices.

In a study by Last Minute Cottages, they looked at 40 of the most popular holiday destinations in the UK, and ranked them according to nine metrics: the quality of internet access, mobile phone coverage, green space, annual daily flow of traffic, average cost of food, average cost of a holiday let, average rating of accommodation, number of attractions, and the population per square metre.

A 'digital detox' involves embracing the opportunity to leave electronic devices behind, taking time to reduce stress, and focusing on social interaction in the physical world, which can be extremely beneficial for one’s health.

According to these calculations, Anglesey ranks as the sixth best place to get away from the stresses of technology and constant communication.

Whitby was ranked as the best destination to escape doom scrolling and phone checking.

Cheltenham was revealed to be the worst destination to visit for disconnecting with the digital world.

4. Keswick, Lake District - £801

7. Chester, Cheshire - £615

8. Isle of Skye, Northwest Scotland - £619.20

9. Tenby, Southwest Wales - £541.40

10. Shanklin, Isle of Wight - £635
