A FERRIS wheel dubbed the ‘Beaumaris Eye’ has made a return to the town for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.

The popular attraction returned to Anglesey on the weekend, having opened on Friday, 8 April on the green outside The Bulkeley Hotel where it will remain until Monday, 9 May.

The Eye stands at 35 metres in tall with 24 gondolas, each taking six passengers, offering incredible views of the Menai Strait, Anglesey, the Great Orme and Snowdonia.

The wheel is open daily from 11am to 6.30pm, with the potential to stay open longer.

Standard tickets are £6 with discounts available for children and group bookings.

The Beaumaris Eye has been a regular fixture in Beaumaris for years, providing a tourism boost to the historic town.

In the past it has attracted over 1,000 people to Beaumaris over single weekends.

A spokesperson for Beaumaris Town Council said: "The ‘Eye’ was a huge success in 2019 when it gave local residents and visitors a chance to see the stunning local views from a different perspective.

“The wheel has again received permission from Beaumaris Town Council and will be sited on the same site on the Green as before.

“It will attract more visitors to the town giving local businesses a boost to the start of the season."
