THE CHEAPEST places to get petrol in Bangor and Caernarfon have been revealed as prices continue to rise.

The last week has seen petrol prices have their highest weekly hike on record.

The average price of a litre of petrol at UK forecourts rose from 160.0p per litre on March 7 to 165.4p on Monday, according to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

The rise is in prices is largely down to Russia's invasion of the Ukraine - which has seen sanctions on Russian oil and gas hit UK consumers.

The cheapest place to get unleaded fuel in Bangor remains the Asda on Farrar Road, which stands at 158.7p, followed by the Tesco Extra 158.9p per litre.

The most expensive place in Bangor is the BP on Beach Road, at 166.9p.

In Caernarfon, the cheapest place to refill your unleaded petrol remains Morrisons, for 160.9p.

Caernarfon’s priciest place is the Texaco on South Road at 167.9p.
