A MAN from Holyhead was fined after he was found guilty of not paying his train fare.
Jody Thorney-Hughes, 20, of Old Station Road, Kingsland, was accused of being at Exeter St Davids station on December 9, 2021 without having previously paid his £140 fare and with intent to avoid such payment.
A guilty verdict was proved in absence at Plymouth District Magistrates' Court yesterday (March 21).

Mr Thorney-Hughes was ordered to pay a fine of £440, as well as compensation of £140, the value of the fare he failed to pay.
He was also told to pay a victim surcharge of £44, and £180 towards the prosecution costs.
This amounted to a total of £804, which he was told to pay by April 18.
