GATES erected for a new bypass in North Wales have been stolen, police say.
The 9.7km Caernarfon bypass road stretches from the Goat roundabout at the A499/A487 junction in Dinas towards the Plas Menai roundabout in Y Felinheli.
It was officially opened to vehicles on February 19 and saw its first crash after just a matter of hours.
However, North Wales Police have now also confirmed that a total of seven 12ft gates have been stolen from the nearby Bontnewydd area over the weekend of February 26 and 27.

They say these gates were erected as part of the bypass.
A spokesperson for NWP said: "Seven brand new 12ft galvanised gates were stolen from the Llanfaglan/Bontnewydd area. These gates were erected as part of the newly constructed Bontnewydd by-pass.
