POLICE have appealed for witnesses to a stabbing which took place in Holyhead earlier this month.

North Wales Police (NWP) say the incident, which took place on January 7, occurred near the Tan-Yr-Efail at roughly 8.20pm.

A statement from NWP Anglesey said: “We are renewing our appeal for witnesses to a serious incident in Holyhead on Friday, January 7, in which a male suffered stab wounds.

“The incident occurred close to the Tan-Yr-Efail estate in the town at around 8.20pm.”

Detective Sergeant Adam Sergeant said: "Our investigation into this incident remains ongoing and we are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

"In particular, we would like to speak to a person we believe was walking a dog in the area of the Maeshyfryd Cemetery at around 8.20pm on this date.

“We believe the person to have walked through the alleyway from Maeshyfryd Road leading towards the Tan-Yr-Efail direction.

"Our enquiries would suggest that this person was wearing hi-vis or reflective clothing, and possibly a head torch and head phones.

"If this person is you, or you believe you know the identity of this person, please contact North Wales Police on 101, quoting reference 22000016510."
