A woman died aboard a coastguard helicopter after a fall while descending a narrow ridge on Snowdon, the opening of an inquest into the tragedy heard today.
Victoria Luck, 47, a special needs teacher, of Avondale Road, Wolverhampton, died on December 19.
Coroner Katie Sutherland said at Caernarfon that she and her partner had gone on to Crib Goch and Miss Luck decided to descend the North Ridge but fell.
Adjourning the inquest, the coroner said: "My investigation remains ongoing.”
Crib Goch has been the scene of numerous tragedies.
