A MAN has been jailed for 26 weeks after being convicted of theft, with police saying they are “pleased that the community of Blaenau will have some respite from his presence”.

Liam Connor McAuley, aged 26 and of no fixed abode, received his sentence on Christmas Eve.

NWP (North Wales Police) Gwynedd South said: “We are pleased that the community of Blaenau will have some respite from his presence, and please be assured that we will continue to work tirelessly to pursue those who commit crime, bring misery and distress to our neighbourhoods.

“If you have any concerns about criminality, please let us know either through our live webchat online, or on 101.”
