THE MP for Ynys Môn, Virginia Crosbie has helped give out Christmas lunches to older people in Newborough after donating £100 to help fund the gesture.

Mrs Crosbie went to the Pritchard Jones Institute on Friday, December 10 to take part in the event organised by community group Malltraeth Ymlaen, who also arranged transport so people could attend.

The buffet-style lunch from the nearby Red Squirrel Cafe was followed by a raffle.

Mrs Crosbie said: “I made some new friends in this part of the island and I would like to thank the organisers Jude Williams, Gill and Alan Smith for doing such a wonderful job with the lunch and to the Director of Malltreath Ymlaen Raymond Robertshaw for inviting me.

“This is just the sort of community spirit that defines the very best of our island and it was a pleasure to be part of it and help fund it. Malltraeth Ymlaen is just brilliant.

“The £100 came from money I receive from completing surveys and all of it is given to local good causes on Anglesey.

“If you feel you could benefit, please get in touch.”
