A BRAND new water facility is on the cards for 2022 at a holiday park in Rhyl as bosses look ahead to another busy season.

Lyons Robin Hood, the flagship park of Lyons Holiday Parks who operate 14 sites across North Wales and Cumbria, have revealed that a “super-speedy, multi-lane slide that’s suitable for all ages” will be coming to the park next March.

As a fifth-generation holiday park that’s helped families create lasting memories for about 100 years, the group said they fully understand how important it is to have facilities that the whole family can enjoy.

Chris Solomon, leisure manager at Lyons Holiday Parks said: “We can’t wait to launch this fantastic new feature in the new year and see families enjoying themselves - it’s what holiday parks are all about. We’re committed to investing in our facilities and bringing more and more fun activities to the park each year.

"This slide is symbolic of all the fun that’s to be had in 2022, and will hopefully entice more families to spend some quality time together on the popular North Welsh coast.”

Joseph Lyons-Mound, company director said the investment in facilities isn’t only in-keeping with the group – the largest holiday park operators in Wales – but is also a nod to the continued boom in domestic holidays next year.

He said: “Although the situation of the pandemic has improved since this time last year, I think there’s still a lot of fear about holidaying abroad, and I don’t think people know what to think going into 2022.

“We may not know what the future holds in terms of tourism, but what we can do is look back at how Lyons Robin Hood has developed in-line with demand over the past year.

"We’ve looked at the site plans and already added an exclusive new development, Hawthorn View, to cater to the hundreds of families who wish to purchase a holiday home on the North Welsh coast. We’ve revisited our chalet accommodation - iconic buildings on the park – which ties-in with the beginning of our story in the 1920’s when my father’s grandfather launched the Lyons Camp.

"Things have progressed so much since those days and it’s safe to say there are lots of exciting developments on the cards.

"Tourism now more than ever needs to stay in-line with the latest trends."

“What we do also know is that North Wales – and other tourist-dense parts of the UK – are always going to be here, and will always be popular among families looking for affordable holidays with plenty of fun and diverse activities to do.”

Beth Hughes, PR executive for the group, said: “Investments and additions to our parks such as this goes hand-in-hand with the region’s increase in tourism. It shows how people want to visit North Wales, and that iconic leisure groups such as Lyons Holiday Parks are all about moving forward. With this new feature comes a demand for more team to manage it, which is why we’ll be driving a recruitment campaign in the new year for our leisure department – an ideal role for any individuals in the area looking for seasonal work."
