A MAN who died following a single-vehicle crash on the A5 in Anglesey last week has been named.
Joseph Hollingsworth, known affectionately as Joe, was 28 and came from the Holyhead area.
Shortly after 5.30pm on Thursday December 2, North Wales Police was informed of a crash involving a grey Seat Leon on the A5 between Rhostrehwfa and Turnpike Nant on the outskirts of Llangefni.
The emergency services attended, but Mr Hollingsworth was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male passenger, a 25-year-old man, was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor and later transferred to a hospital in Stoke, where he remains with serious, potentially life-changing injuries.
Mr Hollingsworth’s family paid the following tribute to him: “A heart of gold and a cheeky little smile. Gone too soon from this world.
“You will be sadly missed by your family and many friends for all of time.”
The investigation to establish what happened is ongoing and officers continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision.
Anybody who may have information, dashcam or CCTV footage that could assist with the ongoing investigation is urged to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit via the live web chat (www.northwales.police.uk/police-forces/north-wales-police/areas/live-chat) or by calling 101 quoting reference number 21000837019.
