A MAN has died and another has been seriously injured following a crash in Anglesey last night (December 2).

Shortly after 5.30pm, North Wales Police was informed of a single-vehicle crash involving a grey Seat Leon on the A5 Holyhead Road, between Rhostrehwfa and Turnpike Nant on the outskirts of Llangefni.

The emergency services attended, but the driver of the car, a 28-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male passenger, a 25-year-old man, was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor but has since been transferred to a hospital in Stoke with serious, potentially life-changing injuries.

Police have appealed anyone with information about the incident to contact them as soon as possible.

Sergeant Meurig Jones, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “Our profound sympathies are with the man’s family at this difficult time.

“The investigation to establish what happened is underway.

“We believe that the Seat Leon had travelled on the A4080 from the Ty Croes area and then went on the B4422, travelling through Llangadwaladr, Bethel and Llangristiolus.

“It then travelled along the A5 before colliding with a wall and into a nearby field.

“We are appealing to anybody who may have been travelling along that route and who may have seen the Seat Leon prior to the collision, or to anybody who may have been in the area and who may have dash cam footage, to contact us as soon as possible.”
