THERE have been more than 2,800 new cases of coronavirus recorded in Wales.

In the latest update from Public Health Wales on Friday, it was reported that 2,833 people have tested positive in the last 24 hours.

Sadly, five people died after a positive test during the same period, taking the total deaths in Wales to 6,382

Of these new cases, 792 were in North Wales.

The new cases in North Wales can be broken down to:

Gwynedd - 244

Flintshire - 157

Wrexham - 131

Anglesey - 93

Conwy - 90

Denbighshire - 77.

The total number of cases recorded in Wales is now 501,028.
