GWYNEDD and Anglesey will pay their respects to the British soldiers have died while serving their country through a host of remembrance services across the region.

Ceremonies are being held tomorrow Remembrance Sunday (November 14), with a number of parades and wreath-laying events also planned.

Below is a list of the remembrance arrangements in Gwynedd and Anglesey:

Aberdyfi

On Remembrance Sunday, Aberdyfi Community Council will be laying a wreath at the war memorial in Penhelig Park Gardens at about 10.30am.

The British Legion is then arranging an act of remembrance outside St Peter’s Church, starting at 10.45am.

No hymns will be sung this year in accordance with government guidelines, and attendees are requested to socially distance.

Amlwch

There is a Remembrance Sunday service at St Eleth’s Church at 10am led by the archdeacon, followed by a short parade to the Memorial Hall for 10.45am, before a service outside the Cenotaph at 10.50am.

Bangor

On Remembrance Sunday, a parade will assemble at the Clock Tower at 9.30am and make its way down to Bangor Cathedral for a 10am service.

Participants will then move down to the Cenotaph for a 11am service, with some guests then visiting Penrhyn Hall following the service for refreshments.

About 80 to 100 participants are expected, with Arfon MP Hywel Williams to be in attendance.

Barmouth

A service will take place at St John’s Church on Remembrance Sunday at 10.45am, with a two-minute silence at 11am.

This will be followed by an open-air service at the Barmouth War Memorial at 12pm.

There will not be a formal parade along Park Road.

Bodedern

The chair of Bodedern Community Council will attend a memorial service at the memorial hall on Remembrance Sunday at 10.45am, and lay a poppy wreath on behalf of the community council.

Bryngwran

A service will be held on Remembrance Sunday at Bryngwran War Memorial at 10.45am.

Caernarfon

A parade will start by the old fountain (near Boots) at 10.40am on Remembrance Sunday, before a salute will later take place on the steps by the Cenotaph.

Criccieth

A Remembrance Sunday service will be held at Criccieth Memorial Hall at 10.45am.

Cwm Cadnant

This year's Remembrance Sunday service will be held in Llandegfan Parish Hall and then at the War Memorial, commencing at 3pm.

Edern

A Remembrance Sunday service by the Cenotaph will start at 1.30pm.

Holyhead

A Remembrance Sunday service will be held at 10am at St Cybi’s Church, before a laying of wreaths at at the Cenotaph at 11am.

Llanbedr

A Remembrance Sunday service will be held by Llanbedr War Memorial at 10.40am. COVID-19 restrictions will be in place.

Llanddaniel Fab

As usual, there will be a small informal service at the Llanddaniel Fab War Memorial, starting just before 11am. A young boy will be playing the Last Post, and Llanddaniel Fab Community Council will present a wreath, as usual, and members of the public are invited to lay poppies.

Llanfachraeth

A service will be held at Llanfachraeth’s Memorial Hall at 7pm on Monday, November 15.

Llanfaelog

A Remembrance Sunday service will be held at St Maelog’s Church at 9.30am.

Llanfair PG

A Remembrance Sunday service will be held at the memorial at 10.45am.

There will be readings and prayers, a two-minute silence and the bugle calls. The vicar will be in attendance, and also representatives from the chapel.

Llangefni

On Remembrance Sunday, a parade will congregate at the Shire Hall Car Park, at 10.30am, before proceeding to the Cenotaph by 10.45am. The service will then commence there at 10.50am.

Isle of Anglesey County Council deputy chief executive, Dylan Williams, will be attending the service.

Llangywer

On Remembrance Sunday, there will be an inter-denominational service at the church at 10.00am, with a procession at 10.45am led by the Lord Lieutenant and the Mayor of Bala Town Council to the Cenotaph for the ceremony of remembrance.

Llanrug

There is a service at the memorial institute at 9am on Remembrance Sunday

Menai Bridge

A Remembrance Sunday service will be held at St Mary’s Church, Menai Bridge. The service starts at 9.30am.

Morfa Nefyn

A Remembrance Sunday service by the Cenotaph will start at 1pm.

Nefyn

A Remembrance Sunday service at Eglwys Dewi Sant will start at 10.15am. A service by the Cenotaph will start at 10.45-10.50am, with a minute’s silence at 11.00am.

Pennal

This year marks the centenary of the unveiling of the war memorial in Pennal (October 28, 1921). A short service in Pennal Church will take place at 10am on Remembrance Sunday, followed by the traditional Remembrance Sunday Service at the memorial at 10.45am.

Pennal Community Council will be fully represented there and, together with Ysgol Pennal and other Pennal organisation representatives and private individuals, will lay wreaths after the 11am silence.

Penrhyndeudraeth

A Remembrance Sunday service will be held at the Eglwys Y Drindod Sanctaidd, starting at 10.45am.

Pentraeth

A Remembrance Sunday service will start at 11am on the square in Pentraeth at the First World War Memorial, then attendees will walk to the Second World War Memorial at the Memorial Hall to conclude the service.

The service will include the laying of a poppy wreath at each memorial.

Penysarn

A Remembrance Sunday service will take place at 10.45am next to the war memorial, marking 100 years since it was erected.

Porthmadog

The Porthmadog branch of the British Legion is responsible for arranging Remembrance Sunday in Porthmadog.

There will be a short outdoor wreath-laying service at Bryn Coffa War Memorial at 11am, followed by a procession through the high street to the British Legion Club. Members of the town council and dignitaries from the area will be present.

Pwllheli

Pwllheli Town Council has decided, due to continuing COVID-19 cases, that there will not be a church service, and will be putting out on social media a request for all to follow COVID-19 rules.

A smaller service at the war memorial will instead take place at 10.45am.

Rhosneigr

A Remembrance Sunday service will take place at Rhosneigr memorial clock at 10.45am.

Trewalchmai

A service and wreath-laying will be held at the memorial clock on Remembrance Sunday at 10.50am.

Ty Croes

Specialist security firm SSGC is gearing up for its nominated charity Mission Motorsport’s annual Race of Remembrance at the Trac Mon race circuit in Anglesey.

The Race of Remembrance (ROR) stops on the Sunday for a remembrance service in the pitlane at 11am before racing continues.

The main element of the event will take place on Remembrance Sunday at 11am in the pit lane at Trac Môn.

Valley

The Remembrance Sunday Services will be held at St Michael’s Church at 10.30am, and at Mynwent Ynys Wen at 11.30am.

Y Felinheli

There will be a Remembrance Sunday service at the Memorial Hall, then moving onto the Memorial Clock. A road closure will be in place for the service.
