Bangor University has launched a new TV ad campaign.

Airing on terrestrial television in Wales (Welsh narrated), HTV West and Central West (English), the commercial will raise awareness of the university brand.

Alex Hardie, head of brand marketing, said: “From our North Wales base, Bangor University has so much to offer, not only prospective students, but businesses, donors, collaborators and funders.

"Our strategy is to share the work of the university with these groups in a manner that reflects our commitment to leading in research, student experience and transformative teaching.”

Working with south Shropshire based firm Lush Films, the university collaborated with visual effects experts to create a “magical” theme highlighting facilities and the diversity of the student and research community, while showcasing the unique university location.

“It was important our epic landscape was approached with a cinematic quality that really shows off the best that North Wales has to offer," added Mr Hardie.

"Our researchers and teaching teams are making societal contributions to the local area and the rest of the world. We believe we have created an advertisement that sets us apart from our competitors, leaving a lasting impression on audiences.”

The English ad is voiced by the popular naturalist, explorer, TV presenter and Bangor University honorary lecturer, Steve Backshall; with Nia Roberts, one of the best-known faces on S4C and Bangor University honorary fellow, voicing the Welsh ad.

A special lengthier version of the advertisement has been created for the university website.
