CAERNARFON Town Football Club has paid tribute to a former director of the club after his death.

Paul Wills, a long-standing Caernarfon Town supporter, died after a short stay in hospital, and was described as an ‘integral part’ of the club during the last 30 years.

Chairman Paul Evans said: “Paul was a straight talking man, with a very sharp wit and, whilst it’s true to say that he would never mince his words where football was concerned, he was always firm but fair.

“Although no longer a member of the board, he was still actively assisting the club and always made himself available to help us whenever possible.

“An example of this was when we ran into difficulties with a collapsed floodlight early in 2020 and Paul stepped in and used his expertise in structural matters to help us.

“There have been numerous such instances over the years, and we all knew with Paul that, whatever he did for the club, he did so from the heart.

“He was a true friend to the club, and someone who brought laughter and joy to the terraces. We owe him a huge debt of gratitude for his unequivocal support and all he has done for us.

“We will miss him enormously in and around the club and will all remember him fondly as a warm, generous and trustworthy man who supported Caernarfon Town through thick and thin.”
