A GREATER number of patrols in Gwynedd will be taking place as police increase their efforts to stop people driving when under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

This follows concerns that have arisen since a crash in the region took place on Saturday, October 9, which a man has been arrested and interviewed in connection with.

NWP (North Wales Police) Gwynedd South wrote in a Facebook post: “Following a road traffic collision that happened last Saturday (October 9) between Nefyn and Morfa Nefyn, Pwllheli, a local male has been arrested and interviewed.

“Police enquiries into this incident continue.

“Following local concerns around this incident, we will be increasing patrols in the area to tackle drink/drug driving, including the use of unmarked police cars.

“If you have concerns that someone in your area is drink or drug driving, call the police immediately.”
