AN ARREST has been made after a man was found unresponsive in Bangor.

North Wales Police and Welsh Ambulance Service (WAS) were called to the incident at Tan Y Ffynwent at about 9.30pm on Thursday night.

The man is believed to have been assaulted. Police have cordoned off a section of the scene of the incident near Ffordd Gwynedd Garden

One person is in custody, police said.

WAS has been approached for comment.

Police have appealed for information from witnesses or anyone with information related to the incident.

"We were called at around 9.30pm last night by colleagues at the Ambulance service for assistance with an incident at Tan Y Fynwent, Bangor," a police spokesperson said.

"A man was found unresponsive and is believed to have been assaulted. The man was taken to hospital by ambulance and a police cordon has been placed in the area for scene preservation.

"One person is currently in custody in relation to this incident and police enquiries are ongoing.

"We are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with information about this incident, to come forward and get in touch with police via our website or by calling 101 and quoting ref Z151183."
