A MAN has sadly died following a collision on the A487 in Corris, Gwynedd.

North Wales Police confirmed that shortly before 12.20pm on Sunday, October 10, they were made aware of a two-vehicle road traffic collision involving two motorcycles near to the Craft Centre.

Emergency services including police, the Wales Air Ambulance and the Welsh Ambulance Service attended but sadly, despite the best efforts of a police officer, members of the public and ambulance crews who carried out CPR, one of the motorcyclists, a 46-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road remains closed while emergency services deal with the incident.

The road is expected to reopen around 6.20pm.

Sergeant Raymond Williams of the Roads Policing Unit said: “I offer my profound sympathies to the family of the motorcyclist, who are being supported by a specially trained officer at this difficult time.

“We are currently investigating this incident as a fatal road traffic collision and ask that any witnesses, who have not already come forward, to contact the police with any information or dash cam footage.

“I would like to thank road users for their patience and understanding whilst the road remains closed”.
