A WALKER was airlifted to safety after suffering an injury near Beddgelert.
South Snowdonia Search & Rescue Team (SSSART), Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team (AMRT) and Caernarfon Coastguard Rescue Helicopter attended the incident, in which a walker had injured their knee in a remote area near the village just before 6pm on Tuesday.
An AMRT spokesperson said: "We were alerted shortly before 6pm this evening to assist a walker who had sustained a knee injury above Beddgelert.
"We deployed one team vehicle to the incident, and were joined by the South Snowdonia Search & Rescue Team who sent a further six members to assist in the operation.
"As the teams arrived on scene, thankfully the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter from Caernarfon had become available having been committed elsewhere, and was a welcoming sight.
"The aircraft was able to evacuate the casualty and the team back to Beddgelert village, saving all a difficult and arduous carry-off.
"We wish the casualty a speedy recovery, and extend our thanks to our colleagues at SSSART for their assistance."
