A MAN slipped 10 metres prior to the Bank Holiday weekend.

This was at Tryfan.

Shortly after starting up the North Ridge, the 24-year-old man opted to take a scrambling detour.

A 'slip' led to a 10-metre fall back to the path causing suspected fractures to an arm and leg.

Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation posted on Facebook on August 27: "A hasty party deployed with stretcher and vacuum mattress but support from Caernarfon based Coastguard helicopter saw the casualty winched from the hill and flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd for treatment.

"A big well done has to go to passing walkers, Ellie and Richard, who saw the fall, called for help and looked after the casualty until the team arrived."
