A YOUNG woman fell about 80ft at Pistyll Cain in Coed y Brenin.
The woman sustained multiple serious injuries.
This was on Monday, August 23.
South Snowdonia Search and Rescue Team wrote on Facebook on August 26: "Team members set up a rope system for safe access into the gorge for both personnel and kit to get down. Luckily a passing doctor who was in the area was on the scene immediately to assist. Multiple teams were involved in the evacuation which also needed three teams to set up a high line for winching into the helicopter.
"Huge thanks go out to the attending doctor, HM Coastguard Bristows 936, Welsh Air Ambulance, Aberdyfi Search & Rescue Team, North Wales Police."
South Snowdonia are a charity run by a team of volunteers who are on call 24 hours of the day every day of the year.
