FOUR people were taken to hospital following a serious crash in Gwynedd.

At 10.24pm, on Wednesday, August 25, North Wales Police received a report that a grey Range Rover Evoque had collided head on with a silver Toyota C-Hr on the A496, in the village of Dyffryn Ardudwy.

The emergency services attended, and all four occupants of the Toyota were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor. The female driver and a male passenger both sustained serious injuries, while the two other occupants suffered suspected minor injuries.

The female driver of the Range Rover Evoque has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit said: “I am appealing to anybody who witnessed the collision to contact officers as soon as possible.

“We are also keen to speak to anybody who has dashcam footage, or anyone who witnessed a grey Range Rover Evoque being driven on the A496 between Barmouth and Harlech prior to the incident, between 9.30pm and 10.20pm.

“Anyone who has had any damage caused to their vehicle on the A496 between Barmouth and Harlech between those times is also urged to contact police.

“I would like to thank those who stopped to help at the scene, and for the patience of motorist whilst we carried out our investigations at the scene.”
