A walker who fell to his death on a notorious narrow ridge on Snowdon was a haulier from the West Midlands, the opening of an inquest heard.
Acting senior coroner for North West Wales, Kate Sutherland, said 47-year-old Rahis Nawaz Khan, of Beeches Road, Rowley Regis, died on July 24 on his way to hospital at Bangor.
He had been with two other males descending the peak on Crib Goch when he fell and became unconscious.
The provisional cause of death was multiple injuries due to a fall from a height.
A full inquest will be held at Caernarfon.
It’s believed he died after plunging more than 90ft.
Llanberis mountain rescue team said he had fallen on the lower slopes of the north ridge of Crib Goch.
A coastguard rescue helicopter from Caernarfon and the North Wales police drone unit were alerted to help find him. Mr Khan was airlifted to hospital.
