A GROUP of friends were descending from Tryfan to Llyn Bochlwyd when one of them was hit by falling rocks.
They reported his leg had been badly cut and that they could see the bone, and the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation (OVMRO) team were called out.
Team members training near Ogwen Cottage were immediately deployed and the coastguard helicopter was requested, with additional team members prepared at base to support if needed.
A statement from OVMRO said: “Fortunately, the casualty had been well looked after by his friends and, once treated by the winchman, was able to be lifted directly to Ysbyty Gwynedd for treatment, and we hope he makes a speedy recovery.”
