BEAUMARIS Lifeboat launched in response to a report of an unmanned Jet Ski near Llanfairfechan

At 8.59pm on Wednesday, August 4, the volunteer crew members of the Beaumaris lifeboat received a page from UK Coastguard Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre at Holyhead.

The Bangor Mobile Coastguard Rescue Teams was also tasked to the incident.

A spokesperson for Beaumaris Lifeboat said: "Upon arrival in the area the lifeboat commenced a search in which a small white boat was noted being recovered from the water and after the Bangor Mobile Coastguard Team members had spoken with them.

"It was decided that this was the craft seen by the caller to the Holyhead Coastguard centre.

"This was a false alarm but with good intent as a result the Coastguard Centre at Holyhead stood down the lifeboat and instructed her to return to station.

"The lifeboat arrived back at Beaumaris at 9.59pm to be refuelled and cleaned under the current Covid 19 instructions. Once this had been completed the crew left the station."
