RSPCA Cymru has issued an an appeal after the 'disturbing' discovery of a cat's head was made at a Denbighshire nature reserve.
The RSPCA Clwyd and Colwyn Branch confirmed the grim finding at Brickfields Pond, Rhyl, on their Facebook page earlier today (August 4).
A statement from them read: "We have had a very disturbing notification, so please be aware this post shares a difficult subject.
"Sadly a cat's head has been found at the brickfield pond, the owner has been and collected. We don't have any details of how this has happened. Please be mindful a) when you are walking around there b) if you live near by and have cats that go outside in that area.
"The owner has been requested to report on 03001234999 as no-one knows exactly what's happened. Sending our deepest sympathy to the owners."
