CAROL Vorderman has gained positive reaction from photos shared on Instagram during a paddleboarding adventure in Wales.

The 60-year-old former Countdown star, who grew up in Prestatyn and Rhyl, has posted candid photos over the past few days.

In one summery snap she is wearing a red swimsuit and sarong, with flip flopts and sunglasses, taken after she has been paddleboarding.

She posted: "Went off on another paddleboarding adventure #Wales yesterday....I just love it...on it most days now and vaguely improving."

In another, she is assembling a plastic box to store her paddleboarding gear while wearing a bikini top.

Carol posted: "So I needed a box for all.my paddleboarding gear.....built one in the heat (roasting in West Wales this week."

"So impressed I ordered another one and now I'm the proud builder of two big boxes.....!!!! Happy days..doesn't take much to keep me happy."

The snaps have gone down well with fans and followers.

Both photos have more than 12,000 likes.

Many followers said the photos had made their day, adding that Carol looked "beautiful" and "hot".

One posted: “Just… WOW!”

Born in Bedford, Bedfordshire, Carol's mum brought the family back to home town of Prestatyn.

She attended Blessed Edward Jones Catholic High School in Rhyl before studying engineering at Cambridge.

She worked at Dinorwig Power Station in Llanberisfor the UK Atomic Energy Authority before embarking on a career in television. That started when her mother noticed a newspaper advert asking for "a woman with good mathematical skills" to appear as co-host on a quiz show for fledgling Channel Four. She appeared on Countdown from the show's inception in 1982 until 2008.

Since then she has been a regular on our screens, appearing on Strictly, I'm a Celebrity, and Loose Women.

Carol also has a significant social media presence, with 117,000 followers on Instagram who she encourages to dress in whatever they feel comfortable in.
