A SERIOUSLY injured motorbiker was airlifted to hospital from a Gwynedd beauty spot.

Aberdyfi Mountain Rescue said it was called shortly after 1.30pm to a remote spot north east of Dinas Mawddwy.

The air ambulance was already in attendance, and its crews had begun to stabilise and treat his multiple injuries.

The Helimed helicopter does not have winching capability, so the assistance of Coastguard Rescue936 Helicopter was requested to lift the injured man from the steep, rocky slope.

The rider was flown to a better landing site and transferred to the Air-Ambulance for transfer to the major trauma unit at Stoke Hospital for further treatment, Aberdyfi Mountain Rescue said.

Everyone was safely off the mountain shortly before 4pm, the mountain rescue team confirmed.
