Young rugby players have been honing their skills with the help of Elite Kids Coaching staff.

Maryport Amateur Rugby League Football Club hosted six coaches from EKC to help more than 160 children to garner professional tips the game.

The sessions were held on the Thursday and Friday of half term.

While there was a lot of coaching the main emphasis was for the children to have fun while developing their skills.

Youth coach Craig Ivison said " These camps are great for raising the profile of rugby league in the area, but most importantly they are great fun for the children and it gives them something to do during half term"

Youth Division Chairman Steve Newton added: "We saw record attendance with the latest camp, 80 kids on day one with 85 on day two. This is phenomenal.

"I would like to thank "Wagga" and his team for their hard work. The fact we can offer these camps is testament to the excellent facilities we have, but more so our dedicated team of volunteers down here at the club."

EKC coaches visit the club at least twice a year to offer key skills coaching camps to players new and existing over two days. Run by RL stars Wayne "Wagga" Godwin, Will Stoker and their tea for childred aged five to 11.
