Gwynedd dog owners could face tough new restrictions on where they can walk their pets.
A consultation to gauge opinion on outlawing where dogs can go has been launched.
Gwynedd Council has decided to open a statutory consultation to consider whether to introduce a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) for the control of dogs.
The Order is about prohibiting dogs from going to the following places:
Public outdoor spaces, with a 'Dog Exclusion Zone' sign at the entrance; Children's play areas; School, college and university grounds; Playgrounds (and land within 2 meters of these grounds)
Other sports facilities and specific beaches within the county (from 1 April to 30 September)
The Order would also force dog owners to clean or pick up after their dog has fouled, force owners to keep their dog on a lead, if requested to do so by an authorised officer.
If you wish to comment on the proposed Order have your say by completing the council's online questionnaire at https://arolwg.gwynedd.llyw.cymru/index.php/957933?lang=en
It's important that you read the documents Draft of the proposed Public Space Protection Order (PSPO): Dog Control and Maps of the designated areas on specific beaches before commenting.
