Beaumaris Pier has reopened, fire chiefs have confirmed.

The announcement of its closure for the day came from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service on Sunday morning and was "due to an incident with a half sunken motor cruiser vessel".

A spokesman for the fire and rescue service confirmed firefighters attended the area in the early ours of Sunday morning to pump water from the vessel.

A team will be returned later the same day to assist in the salvage operation.

The fire service confirmed at 5.45pm that the site had reopened, adding: "Thank you for your patience and understanding."
