A FARM on Anglesey is on the market for the first time in more than half a century.

Savills has launched the sale of 176 acres of Welsh farmland, which is the first time it has been brought to the market for more than 50 years.

Located in the North-East of the island, about nine miles north of Llangefni, Gaer Farm in Anglesey comprises a traditional four bedroom farmhouse with views of the surrounding countryside and an extensive range of farm buildings, including some traditional stone barns that have the potential for conversion into further accommodation, subject to the necessary planning consents.

The residential and commercial farm has a guide price of £1,800,000.

Rhydian Scurlock-Jones, director at Savills in Telford, whose rural team are leading the sale, said: “This represents a rare opportunity to purchase a ring fenced farm in an area where such farms seldom come to the open market.

"In addition to the beautiful rural location, which is in huge demand at present, the farm provides a residential property and a range of traditional farm buildings that are ripe for a diversification or conversion, subject to the necessary approvals.

"The land could also offer an opportunity for developing its environmental potential through re-wilding, or tree planting.”

Previously operating as a successful dairy farm with some infrastructure still in-situ, there is opportunity to reinstate and further develop this business or utilise the buildings and land for alternative uses.

It is available to buy for the first time since 1970.

Viewings to the farmhouse and farm buildings are strictly by prior appointment with Savills.
