A new councillor has been chosen for Anglesey.
While we await the results of the Senedd Cymru Election for Arfon and Ynys Môn we have had our first result from Plas Arthur, Llangefni, where volunteers are busy counting ballot papers.
Jeff Evans has been elected as a county councillor to represent the Caergybi ward on Anglesey Council.
The Independent member secured victory in what proved a very close race for second and third place between Plaid Cymru and Welsh Labour.
The full results:
Evans, Jeff (Independent) 788 votes.
Browes, Howard Angus Neil (Plaid Cymru) 636 votes.
Saboor, Jennifer Dowell (Welsh Labour) 629 votes.
Marsden, James Edward (Welsh Liberal Democrats) 107 votes.
