An opportunity for Gwynedd businesses and organisations to apply for cash from the UK Community Renewal Fund.

The UK Government has set up an UK Community Renewal Fund with a budget of £220 million for 2021/22 only.

Local areas such as Gwynedd can submit applications of up to £3 million to the Fund with a suggestion that individual applications should be in the region of £500,000 with the potential for smaller applications to come together under the guidance of one partner to apply for financial support.

Cllr Gareth Thomas, Gwynedd Council's Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said: "Business groups, voluntary or community groups and education providers including colleges or universities can apply for funding under the themes of investment in skills, local businesses and communities and places as well as supporting people into employment.

"The Fund will be administered locally by the Council on behalf of the UK Government and applicants need to submit their applications by noon on Friday, 28 May."

The Council intends to hold a virtual opportunity for potential applicants to ask questions between 11.30 and 12.30 on Friday, 14 May.
