The Denbigh and Flint Show has been a highlight on the summer calendar for many across North Wales for generations.

It's one of the biggest social and entertainment events in the region, with the planning months in advance.

There's endless things to see, experience, taste and enjoy. It's a fabulously full day out for all the family.

Sadly last year, along with so many others, the regular fixture was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, having only been prevented in the past by disease or wartime.

But despite the best hopes of hosts Denbighshire & Flintshire Agricultural Society to "get through these tough times and come back stronger in 2021", this year's event has also been cancelled.

As we keep our fingers crossed for 2022 coming back with a bang and being a show like no other, the Denbighshire Free Press takes a look back at just a few moments and faces from shows gone by, with a gallery from our archives.

If you have photos from your time at the show, as a visitor or competitor, you can share them with us here or email claire.pierce@newsquest.co.uk

Here's hoping for a momentous return of this fantastic celebration next year.
