A WARNING has been issued to off-roaders ahead of the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
North Wales Police's Rural Crime Team said off-roading is a "regular issue" across the region and can cause significant harm to wildlife at springtime.
Easter is a significantly busy period for beauty spots such as Snowdonia, where high demand for parking has seen vehicles mounting kerbs and obstructing lanes in recent years.
A post on the Rural Crime Team Facebook page said: "Illegal off roading is a regular issue throughout North Wales and can have a significant impact on habitats and at this time of year ground nesting birds.
"We will be patrolling our known hot spots this weekend.
"If you are caught, you have been warned."
