FOUR businesses in the Holyhead area are now fully complying with coronavirus regulations after being served with premises improvement notices.

The Isle of Anglesey Council’s Public Protection team is monitoring business compliance with coronavirus regulations to ensure customer and staff safety.

Appropriate coronavirus measures are now in place after premises improvement notices were recently served at B&M, Holyhead Post Office, Andy’s Tyre Service Ltd and Stermat, in Valley.

Angleseys's chief public protection officer, Les Pursglove, said: “Unfortunately, these premises had disregarded prior warnings which resulted in these improvement notices being served.

“We have monitored them carefully in recent weeks and are pleased that they now have the appropriate coronavirus measures in place.

“We fully appreciate that these are uncertain times for businesses and our officers are on-hand to offer advice and guidance if required. However, any Anglesey business failing to comply with a premises improvement notice will be issued with a Premises Closure Notice.”

Anglesey said it has also served two £1,000 fixed penalty notices and a compliance notice on businesses for ignoring coronavirus regulations.

The businesses were classed are a premises required to be closed under the Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (No5) (Wales) Regulations 2020.
