A CONTROLLED burn mistaken for a gorse fire has been extinguished, it has been confirmed.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a call shortly after 6pm reporting the 'gorse blaze', above Rhiwlas.
A spokesman said one crew from Bangor attended the scene and discovered that it had been a controlled burn.
It has since been extinguished.
