TWO teenagers attacked an ambulance crew before setting fire to a boat in Caernarfon on Friday morning.

North Wales Police has appealed for information following the early morning rampage during which a car was also torched.

Police were called for assistance on South Road at 1.34am after an ambulance crew had to stop to remove cones blocking the road. As they exited the vehicle they were attacked by two youths hurling stones at them.

It is believed the same individuals set a large boat on fire at Castle Hill dry dock just after 3am, which caused considerable damage.

Another incident was reported to police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service at 3.37am on North Penrallt, where a car had been set alight.

A police statement said: "We are appealing for information after two youths caused two fires and attacked an ambulance crew in Caernarfon overnight.

"Parents – do you know where your teenagers were last night? Did they return home in the early hours with their clothes smelling of fuel or smoke?

"Motorists / local residents – do you have any dashcam or CCTV footage from these areas that can help us in our investigation?"

Detective Sergeant Arwel Hughes said: "This type of crime is unacceptable at any time, but during these difficult times, emergency services are already stretched enough.

"We are treating these incidents very seriously and would appeal to anyone with information that can help us to come forward, either via our live webchat https://www.northwales.police.uk/police-forces/north-wales-police/areas/live-chat/ or on 101.
