MOTORISTS have been reminded to expect possible disruption as a weather warning for snow remains in place until the end of the day.

The yellow weather warning from the Met Office came into effect at 3am on Sunday and will last until midnight.

A spokesman for the Met Office warned possible effects include travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers, delays or cancellations to rail and air travel, some rural communities could become cut off, power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.

Areas affected include Chester and surrounding areas, Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy and Gwynedd.

From midnight until 11am on Monday morning, a yellow warning for ice will be in place across the whole of North Wales and Chester.

A spokesman added: "Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces. Icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths."
