A VEHICLE was seized in Snowdonia after the driver was stopped in breach of coronavirus rules and caught without a valid licence.

North Wales Police's Roads Policing Unit tweeted the driver, who was also not insured, has been reported to court following the incident in the Ogwen Valley on Sunday.

Police have stepped up patrols across the mountain region following a rise in visitors over the Christmas period as the new strain of Covid-19 is spreading across North Wales.

"We stopped this car A5 Ogwen Valley #Snowdonia yesterday," police tweeted.

"Driver had an invalid Indian licence as he had resided in UK for over 12 months.

"Reported to court for no licence & no insurance. Vehicle seized.

"Driver and passenger both reported for breaching Covid regulations too."
