RNLI lifesavers raced to help a boat reported adrift in the Menai Strait.

At 4.18pm on Saturday, January, volunteer crew members of the Beaumaris lifeboat received details on the incident. As the boat was believed to be drifting with the tide and creating a possible navigation hazard to other vessels, it was decided to launch the Beaumaris Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat Annette Mary Liddington.

She made her way towards Caernarfon.

Once on scene, it was discovered that the craft was still attached to her anchors.

A spokesperson from Beaumaris Lifeboat said: "Towed craft back to a mooring at Waterloo port.

"The UK Coastguard Mobile Rescue Team from Llandwrog also attended the incident having made contact with the boat owner.

"The lifeboat returned to her station at 7.38pm to be serviced and refuelled and cleaned under the Covid 19 instructions."
