A PAINTER and decorator who suffered from depression felt isolated during the Covid-19 pandemic, an inquest heard.

Stephen Kenneth Lloyd, 55, who had suffered from anxiety for some time, was reported missing on June 9 and his body was found in the back of his van in Ruthin Road, Wrexham, that night.

At the hearing, David Pojur, assistant coroner for North Wales East and Central, said Mr Lloyd, who lived with his mother at Pont yr Afon, Penycae, had told his GP he had thought of self-harming but did not intend to act on it.

The inquest hearing at Denbighshire County Hall in Ruthin also heard that Mr Lloyd had been unable to work much because of the pandemic.

Record a conclusion of suicide, the coroner stated: “That was obviously a factor on his mind”.
